dc.descriptionReplaces a number of dedicated devices for the blind. The Notetaker is really a communication and computing device for the blind and visually impaired which runs on a personal computer. It runs special programs to enable users to access modern electronic media and other information sources including: Access recorded books and music, study material and electronic documents, also access the internet, send and receive e-mails and serve as a personal organiser. It can also assist in preparing, editing and spell check letters, documents and student assignments. The Notetaker is a device to provide the visually impaired and blind, at work, at home and in the classroom with the ability to record and play back lectures or events as well as edit, annotate and organise such recordings. (screen reader ??) a portable talking computer for the blind, with no screen. Open-source, low cost. TTS for output (Zulu, Afr, English), intended for 11 official languages. E-speak voices.
