Kodwa uma ubheka ukuthi uKader Asmal owayenguNgqongqoshe wezeMfundo wamemezela phakathi kuka-2003 ukuthi ngo-2006 kuyokwethulwa umgomo wokungakhokhwa kwemali yesikole, iminyango eminingi yezemfundo ithi: Kukhona okungcono okungenziwa.
Ngeshwa, abazali nezingane abaludinga ngempela lolu sizo abalutholi.

“Kodwa othishanhloko abagcwalisa izikole zabo ngenhloso yokuthola imixhaso emikhulu bazoboshwa. Uma kunesidingo, bazoseshwa aboPhiko loFezela ngoba izingane okufanele ngabe ziyaluthola lolo sizo, zigcina ngokungalutholi.”
ASIKEZWA lutho ngezikole ezingakhokhi mali yesikole esifundazweni sethu – kulindweni? Ezinye izifundazwe zisashaya ngonyawo lonwabu ekusebenziseni lo mgomo kanti ezinye zinezinye izinkinga. “Izikole esizikhethile kuzodingeka ukuba amagama azo aqale ashicilelwe kwiGovernment Gazette ngaphambi kokuba zibalulwe njengokungafanele ukuba zikhokhe. Kodwa besifuna lusheshe lolu hlelo ukuze sigweme indaba yokubuyisa izimali esezikhokhiwe,” kuchaza u-Ina Cronje. Ama-primary angu-975 nama-secondary school angu-350 eKZN asohlwini lwalezo zikole ezingeke zikhokhe kanti athola izincwadi ezaziwazisa ngalo mgomo ngo-October nyakenye. Lokho kwafakazelwa ezinye izincwadi ezaphinde zathunyelwa ngo-December.
Kodwa kwezinye izindawo abazali bese beyikhokhile imali ka-2006 engeke ibuye ngisho noma leso sikole sibalwa kwezingakhokhi.
UMnyango wezeMfundo eWestern Cape utshele abakwaBONA ukuthi lo mgomo bazoqala ukuwusebenzisa ngoMay 1, 2006 – kodwa ngeke bayibuyise imali esikhokhiwe. NeLimpopo yasho okufanayo.
