Use the search function to find and open records. Note that the function depends on the source language specified in source language drop-down list; the default source language is English.

Searching for a term

1.Open the Search panel by clicking on the search24 button.

2.Choose the search type.

Note: There are four search types available to signed-on users:

Default Search searches for terms (in the source language) that start with the keyword(s) entered in the search box.
Fuzzy Search uses a Levenshtein comparison to find terms that are similar to the keyword(s) entered.
Exact Match searches only for terms that are identical to the keyword(s) entered.
Wildcard Search uses special characters to aid in searching for terms:

oThe ? character can be used to indicate one character. For example, the search string "?-dimensional" will find the following terms: "0-dimensional", "1-dimensional", "2-dimensional" and "3-dimensional".

oThe * character can be used to indicate zero or more characters. For example, the search string "abdominal*" will find the following terms: "abdominal", "abdominal discomfort", "abdominal distension", "abdominal pain", "abdominal skinfold" and "abdominal wall".

Note: Do not use a Wildcard search with the '*' character as the only entered keyword. The system will find all of the available terms and it will take a very long time to load and order all of the results. This can cause your browser to stop working.

3.Enter the keyword(s).

4.Start the search by clicking on the Find link.

5.Select a search result to display.

6.The selected result will be displayed in the Termbrowser.

Users also have the ability to specify a termbase and a project in which to search for the keywords.

1.Open the Search panel by clicking on the search24 button.

2.Select a Termbase from the drop-down list.

3.Select a project from the drop-down list.
